Failed to query TCP/IP settings Begonnen von charlotba
04. September 2010, 20:56:46 Hello Everyone, I recently reinstalled Windows XP SP 2 as my PC was very sluggish and I don't recall ever doing a reinstall since I bought this PC six years ago! I ran the File and Settings Transfer Wizard prior to my reinstall. The install went smoothly and I transferred my original setting back to my PC after the install. However, since the reinstall I'm unable to connect to the Internet and I'm also having problems connecting my wireless printer. I connect to the Internet through a cable modem. I also have a NETGEAR wireless router which connects my laptop and my Canon Pixma MX860. I can still connect to the Internet with my laptop and can access the web as well as the Optonline.net mail server . I ran the new connection Wizard selecting "connect to the Internet" then "set up my connection manually" then "connect using a broadband connection that is always on". The next screen read "completing the new connection Wizard, your broadband connection should already be configured and ready to use…". However, when I use Internet explorer to try to access the web I get an error message that reads "the page cannot be displayed, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable…". This same error message also recommends checking the option to "automatically detect settings" which I already had checked. I've also done the following but still cannot connect: - I right clicked the 1394 network connection and clicked "repair" and got the following error "failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection". - I looked at my bios settings to ensure that the integrated NIC card was set to "ON". - Per a user that was having a similar problem, I renamed my TCPIP.sys files to TCPIP.sys.old and rebooted and retried the new connection but still had the same problem.I did notice that new TCPIP.sys files were created. - I deleted the 1394 net adapter in the settings under system/device manager and reinstalled it by right clicking "network adapters" and selected "scan for hardware changes". - I noticed there are all yellow question marks next to "other devices" and all the devices listed under that including ethernet controller, multimedia audio controller, multimedia controller, PCI modem, and video controller. - Unplugged and then plugged in my cable modem to reset it. I noticed when I right-clicked Network Connections/1394 communication 3 properties/Internet protocol (TCP/IP) there is a button to "install" as well as "properties" but the "uninstall" button is grayed out, does that mean that TCP/IP is not installed on this PC? When I click "properties" the option to "obtain an IP address automatically" was checked off. Does this mean that TCP/IP is in fact installed on this PC? The Uninstall button being grayed out leads me to believe TCP/IP is not installed on the PC. Does all this have anything to do with why I can't get my wireless printer to connect wirelessly? The only other thing I can try is to reinstall the operating system but I'm trying to avoid that as it takes so long. Regarding the reinstall, I was doing it from an Dell OEM disk which had an option to install other Windows components and IIS was one of those components. I don't recall the exact description however it had something to do with Internet connections and TCP/IP. However, when I tried to install it I was prompted for a second Windows install disk but my PC only came with the one install disk. Is that IIS software something I can download from Microsoft and will that fix my problem? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide! Dan G. in CT |

Sound Problem unter Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit Begonnen von Hans41
18. Juni 2008, 07:14:08 Hallo Ich hoffe das mir hier jemad helfen kann, ich habe unter Vista Problem mit dem sound Treiber. Ich versuche schon seit Tagen sound Treiber zu Installieren bis jetzt habe 10 Treiber ausbrobiert aber bis jetzt ohne erfolg.Im Anhang habe ich mal Zwei Screenshost von meinem System beigelegt. Mit Everrest hat mir das unter Sound gezeigt Intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller und SiSoftware Sandra das AsuSteK Computer Inc SoundMAX Intergrated Digital Audio Revision A3 Typ AC'97 Version 2.01 Die Daten habe ich unter Windows XP ausgelesen an der Hardware ändert sich ja nichts. Ich hoffe das mir einer sagen kann wie ich doch nich zu meinem sound komme, es währe sehr nett wenn mir einer einen direckt Link geben könnte wo ich mir den Passenden Treiber Runterladen kann wenn es was zum laden gibt, meine Nerven liegen blanck such seit Tagen nach einem Geeigneten Treiber bis jetzt aber ohne Erfolg. Ach so ich sollte noch erwähnen das bei Windows Vista Home Premium noch kein SP1 Installiert habe. Ich möchte mich schon mal im Vorraus für eure Hilfe bedanken !!! Gruß Hans |

Ich habe auch schon geGoogelt und nichts herraus gefunden,meine Frage ist ob es da schon eine Lösung gibt ? |

Maus und Tastaturtreiber - wo ist nur Plug&Play geblieben? Begonnen von Firewater

Januar 2008, 02:51:45 Hallo Leute tja so läuft das wohl hier, man kommt an, meldet sich an und hat gleich ein Problem... also nachdem ich mich heute schon den ganzen Tag mit meinem neuen Laptop mit Vista Home Premium rumgeschlagen hab (ich sag nur Vodafone EasyBox...) dachte ich mir, ich gönn mir mal zum Abend ein bisschen Spaß und spiele mal was was auf meiner alten Kiste nicht läuft ich schließe also meinen Bildschirm, meine Tastatur und Maus an den Laptop an und will loszocken und muss mich wundern - nix läuft! der erkennt die Hardware, findet aber die passenden Treiber dazu nicht! Das ist natürlich schlecht, da beide Mäuse (die eine lag lustigerweise dem Laptop bei) keine Treiber Software dabei haben! Hab auch die Standardtreiber installiert (HID Maus und sowas versucht) aber entweder waren das nicht die richtigen oder das klappt so nicht - der sagt dann er weiß nicht genau ob das der richtige Treiber ist und das Gerät kann nicht aktiviert werden Die Tastatur hat ne CD, aber ich glaube bei meinem XP ist die auch als Standard-Tastatur installiert... naja aber da hab ich zumindest ein paar Treiber und vielleicht krieg ich die noch zu laufen... die Mäuse liefen abwechselnd mal, aber der meckert trotzdem die ganze Zeit rum dass er Treiber installieren will und die Tastatur geht auch, bis Windows startet... ich hab mir schon versucht die Treiber aus dem Netz zu laden (das hat noch NIE funktioniert!) dann hab ich mir die Logitech Programme für diesen Kram runtergeladen aber die sind unter Vista nicht lauffähig (setpoint ist zu modern) also die Mäuse sind beide von Logitech der Laptop ist ein Asus X53K und die eine Maus lag wie gesagt sogar bei und es steht Asus drauf... die andere ist eine 20€ Logitech standard Maus, beide optisch und mit Rad die Mäuse: M/N: M-UAG 120 und Premium Optical Wheelmouse M-BT 58 hoffe ihr könnt mir mit irgendwelchen Treibern oder guten Ratschlägen helfen :) ich verzweifle ja nur selten am Betriebssystem - man findet mit google irgendwie immer einen der das gleiche Problem hat aber irgendwie hat das diesmal nicht geklappt und nach 4 Stunden hab ich dann auch keine Lust mehr : / gruß Fire |

nach langer Zeit habe ich mein gutes, altes Need for Speed Underground 2 mal wieder installiert.
Leider muss ich feststellen, dass sich meine angepasste Steuerung absolut nicht speichern lassen will.
Ich hab schon alles mögliche ausprobiert:
-Deaktivieren der UAC
-Berechtigungen des Install-Ordners angepasst
-Spiel als Admin gestartet (macht er sowieso -> XP SP3-Kompatibilitätsmodus)
-Versucht das Spiel als normaler Nutzer zu starten (erreicht über die Aufgabenplanung -> leider auch ohne Erfolg)
Kennt jemand von euch das Problem und hat es ggf. gelöst?
Würde mich echt darüber freuen, wenn ich endlich meine Steuerung speichern könnte...
