If your Windows 10 system is hanging on booting, preventing you from accessing the desktop, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Try restarting your computer and see if it boots up properly.

Boot into Safe Mode: Booting into Safe Mode allows you to start your computer with only the essential drivers and services running. To boot into Safe Mode, restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key (or Shift + F8) before the Windows logo appears. From the Advanced Boot Options menu, select "Safe Mode" and press Enter.

Check for Disk Errors: Your hard drive may have errors that are causing the booting problem. You can use the built-in Windows tool called "Check Disk" (chkdsk) to scan and repair disk errors. To run Check Disk, open Command Prompt as administrator and type the command chkdsk /f /r and press Enter. Follow the on-screen instructions to schedule the disk check and restart your computer.

Use System Restore: If your computer was working fine before the booting issue started, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a previous state. To access System Restore, restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key (or Shift + F8) before the Windows logo appears. From the Advanced Boot Options menu, select "Repair Your Computer" > "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced Options" > "System Restore" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check for Malware: Malware infections can also cause booting issues. Use a reputable antivirus or anti-malware program to perform a full system scan and remove any detected threats.

Check Hardware Connections: Ensure that all external devices, such as USB drives, printers, and external hard drives, are disconnected from your computer. Sometimes, faulty hardware or peripherals can cause booting problems.

Perform a Startup Repair: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try using the Windows Startup Repair tool to fix common booting problems. Boot from your Windows installation media (DVD or USB) and select "Repair your computer" > "Troubleshoot" > "Startup Repair" and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you're still experiencing booting issues after trying these steps, it may indicate a more serious hardware or software problem, and you may need to seek assistance from a professional technician or contact Microsoft Support for further help.
