The DVD/CD drive in my laptop is not recognizing data carriers even when booting, and I can't do any recovery. However, deactivating and then activating the drive in the device manager usually solves the problem. I've tried removing filters and using Fix-It, but it didn't help. The latest driver is present, and there's never an error message. I suspect there's an error in the registry that configures the drive incorrectly during startup. Any suggestions?
